babydracoSo...eh...I can't even find some of my old fics. Did I destroy them in a fit of shame? And I'm not sure what to do with some of the ones I found.
The second most popular thing I've ever written, a certain Ron/Draco fic, I simply do not understand what people think is so great about it. Maybe it was just excellent timing, a gigantic, voraciously active fandom at the height of its popularity, a not unpopular pairing and a fic that doesn't at all suck probably combined to make the tween girls of fanfiction.net think it was better than it really was.
I think "Honey to the Bee" was good but at the same time, pretty creepy. I could either make it *Not* creepy somehow, or just abandon it to fade into darkness. Or CLEARLY label it as "AU". An AU in which most people in this story are even worse than they were in the text! For better or worse, most of the fics that could be considered part of that AU are now lost to me. Unfortunately, the perfectly conventional "King Without a Crown" went down with them, wherever they all are. I guess I deleted my old fic journal and didn't keep copies. I still have "I'm Not Sorry" though...and with some editing, I'm sure I can make it something I'd repost. Now, where are my modern!AUs?
I'm trying to go through and lock down my stuff, so I can keep it all concentrated on my A03 account, and only the best stuff, the stuff I'm not embarrassed about. It's just that when I say I'm going to go back and rewrite stuff, I almost never do...I just found, while searching for old fics, an entry from Insanejournal where I claimed I was going to rewrite Hands Clean...from like two years ago.
