why captain America?

Why is it that so much of the really inventive kinky porn for his characters is in the Captain America fandom?
Don't get me wrong, I am loving a lot of what I've found there and yet...I would not otherwise be interested in reading Captain America fanfic if Bucky Barnes was played by someone else. The idea that there might be more fic in volume, I get, but I don't get why one fandom is kinkier than others.
Why is something like this what I found in the Captain America section and not...?
I think the "Kings" fandom was a little nervous about going to truly unusual places. Understandable, I guess, but I've been going to weird places with those characters with gleeful abandon for yearspot induced threesomes and discipline relationship AUs that I forget for some people, it's hard enough to adjust to the idea of basic D/J porn.
Well, and that's not to say the Once fans are un kinky. There are a lot of filthy prompts on their kink meme but a significant majority of the over 100 pages of prompts are still unfilled. People have ideas but they don't seem interested in following through. It's disappointing, after the great experience I remember with the A Team kink meme. Maybe it's because OUaT is such a femslash heavy fandom, the m/m isn't as much of a focus- but, you know, het prompts that aren't Rumbelle would also be okay.

Date: 2013-05-13 04:14 am (UTC)I keep reading A-Team fic even though I've yet to see the movie and it's been longer than I can even remember since I saw the series.
But yeah. Captain America is part of the Avengers and therefore there are more stories and more kinky stories.
It is very annoying when fandom doesn't give us what we want, I know.

Date: 2013-05-14 01:45 am (UTC)I wouldn't call the Kings fandom nonexistent, it's more like "in a coma". It's just not very active currently because there's no more canon. There's an acceptable amount of fic out there but only like, three plots.
Once Upon a Time is a pretty big fandom. But obviously not as sprawling as the Avengers. And is pretty dominated by two main pairings, neither of which I ship. :(

Date: 2013-05-16 12:35 pm (UTC)I know the pain of Once Upon A Time. I like the show, would be in the fandom but for the same reasons.
Why did the big femslash fandom have to be that one? Or that pairing?

Date: 2013-05-17 01:01 am (UTC)It's not the pairing in itself so much as the tinhats (and who ever thought that would be an issue for fandom and not RPF?) and the way they present it.

Date: 2013-05-17 07:22 pm (UTC)In the past, no one would ever have seriously considered that a major North American "network" tv show airing at 8 pm could ever have a same sex pairing as the main romance. If anyone thought it could happen, they really were crazy. Now there's a lot more freedom and acceptance, which is mostly a good thing but it gives tin hats hope. But maybe I'm crazy for believing in the pairings I believe in.

Date: 2013-05-16 12:36 pm (UTC)Of course if we'd ever been able to influence fandom, David and Lou would be popular in fandom.
