babydracoWent to my parents storage locker to put pieces of colored duct tape on all the furniture I want loaded in the moving truck. It's so disgusting in there. There was a mouse problem at the previous locker and while I thought most of the stuff that got ruined was thrown away, some things weren't. Well, I consider anything that even looks like a mouse came near it, ruined forever but that's just me. The stuff that didn't get ruined because it went into the new locker far more recently, is still all covered with dirt and cobwebs. My books were stored so poorly that almost none of them will be worth keeping, I'm serious, I'm not even looking through the boxes, I'm just burning like burning all of them. If it's not in a plastic box or still in its shrink wrapped packaging, it's going in the garbage/on the bonfire.
Good thing none of them are valuable. Almost all my good hardcovers and the Inklings stuff plus anything I've purchased in the last year and a half, should be in our house. Of course, I'm going to throw the most epic fit if it turns out someone moved them without my permission or knowledge, but I'm pretty sure they're in the Craft Room. I also rent a second locker at another, better facility and everything in there is fine. The one I pay for is so much better yet also cheaper, it's ridiculous, I wish I could remember to stop letting my parents make these sorts of choices for me.
Then we'll have to come back later in July and get the salvageable stuff that's been in there longer. And then the stuff we have to throw out. Even if it wasn't ruined, it's all for a life I thought I was going to have that I don't. Meanwhile, every single thing coming out of there that I want to bring to the new place has to basically be hosed down/vacuumed/disinfected before it enters the new place. And I won't be there when my dad and whoever helps him, loads the truck because I have to meet with the property manager at 9:30 a.m many miles away.
